Breaking Down the Best and Worst Offensive Lines in the NFL
What impact will these units have on the offensive weapons in 2025?
The offensive line is the skeleton key to unlocking a great play caller, great position players, and the offense as a whole. To often we ignore the overall ecosystem of the skill players, and when we do think of their environment, we automatically go to the QB. The offensive line is right up there when it comes to the importance of a position group for any player on the field to succeed.
So, I found a trusted ranking of offensive line units for 2025 to breakdown the three best and three worst, and I looked at the impact they will have on the pieces around them.
These rankings come from the great football minds over at Fantasy Points. The link to the full 32 team article is below. Check it out and see where your team lands.
Fantasy Points 2025 Offensive Line Rankings
The Best Offensive Lines in 2025
1. Philadelphia Eagles
2. Denver Broncos
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
HM: Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions
Eagles:
Don’t you dare accuse me of being a homer here! These aren’t even my rankings! But, of course the Eagles would be #1 for me. They just helped produce a 2k yard rushing season. The Eagles approached the offseason like they do every year, attacking the trenches. Trading for struggling players with the draft capital to show some potential that just needs to be developed a bit more.
Jeff Stoutland will do what he does best and hope to get the issues Kenyon Green had in Houston, turned into some production for Philly. They have elite players everywhere but RG, but the depth is there and current starter Tyler Steen has the experience to take the next step.
We should view all Eagles position players with confidence going into 2025. While we can’t expect another 2,000 yard rushing season. Expect a dominant run game and elite pass protection. As I have mentioned before, if the young defense takes any sort of step back, we will see the passing game get more work. That is all stabilized by a dominant O-Line.
Broncos:
Take a wild guess on what the key to developing a rookie QB is? You nailed it, an offensive line. The Broncos were set up for success in 2024 with an offensive system that was QB friendly in itself, and great OL play to unlock it. They return all five starters in 2025. Continued growth as a unit in the same offensive system goes a long way in a young quarterback’s development.
The Broncos added some solid pieces to the passing game and revamped their backfield bringing in JK Dobbins and adding some juice in RJ Harvey in the 2nd round of the NFL draft. A more established run game paired with a very good OL means they can push the ball downfield and attack the intermediate area with tall, big body playmakers in Courtland Sutton and rookie WR Pat Bryant.
Outside of Broncos fans, you won’t find someone higher on their offense as a whole than me. That is mostly because of the offensive line and play caller, combined with how Bo Nix uses his strengths to raise the ceiling of the offense, and lifts the players around him who we don’t consider superstars. It’s going to be a fun 2025 in Denver.
Bucs:
In the posted article, you will notice that this team made the biggest jump in ranking from 2024 to 2025. That was largely in part due to the unknown of the interior turning into a strength last season. While Bucky Irving has our hearts, we need to show this group some love. They balled out in the screen game as well. While there might be some offensive system change, the Bucs success is stabilized by the OL and weapons.
In Fantasy, we are seeing a bit of a price bump for everyone going into 2025. It’s for good reason, they hired internal for the new OC position with Josh Grizzard. This gives me confidence that Baker Mayfield can sustain another coordinator taking over, and probably prop him up like he has the last two. You know Baker is going to sling the rock, in 2025, he will have the protection to do so. I’m confident in all Bucs skill position players right now.
The Worst Offensive Lines in 2025
30. Seattle Seahawks
31. New York Giants
32. Houston Texans
HM: Cincinatti Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Dolphins
Seahawks:
An underrated contributor to if the Seahawks offense can exceed relatively low expectations for 2025 is the interior offensive line. It’s not great. That has also been the frequent demise of Sam Darnold, in your face pressure. It’s not a great pairing.
The key to this team will be the run game. We need to see a “run the ball and play defense” approach for this team, and with Mike Macdonald as HC and new addition Klint Kubiak as OC, that is exactly what I expect. First round pick Grey Zabel will be a welcome addition to this unit and should help bolster the overall athleticism in run blocking, as well as lock up the blindside for Darnold.
Along with a lot of outside zone runs from Kubiak, expect a quick and relatively short area pass game with WRs Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp as this teams’ primary receivers. But if we see the offensive line play well, JSN can win down the field. A lot is riding on this unit in 2025.
Giants:
Another year, another bottom projected offensive line for the Giants. Andrew Thomas is pictured here for a reason. I’m not sure any one player (outside of QB) determines the fate of an entire offense like Andrew Thomas does. Can upgraded QB play mask the OL play?
In a division where points will need to be scored, and uncertainty at RB, pass protection will be a key component for the Giants in 2025. Brian Daboll basically has one year to try to remain a head coach in the NFL. I personally think the QB play will be good enough to actually run his offense in a competent way, there is one issue though. Their schedule is brutal. This team could nosedive by midseason if the offensive line can’t hold drives together and let Russell Wilson use his deep passing game as a true weapon. Winning games is tough, but at the least, this offense needs to look like it is moving in a positive direction.
Texans:
The Houston Texans are one of my biggest mystery box teams in 2025. Young QB, young and talented WR group, old RB room and… a bad offensive line. There was a point in time this offseason where the entire football world collectively said the words “what the hell is Houston doing at offensive line?”. Unfortunately, I still don’t know.
The Texans traded away their best lineman in Laremy Tunsil, and their starting guard in Kenyon Green. Their OL was so bad in 2024 that it is hard to see it being any worse this season. Clearly they think it was more scheme related than talent with these moves. Regardless, I have some concerns for both the run game and CJ Stroud getting back to his rookie season form.
As you can see on this beautiful visual from FTN, only Deshaun Watson was pressured more than Stroud last season. Literally “unblocked pressure”… That does indicate a schematic issue. Which explains the change at OC to Nick Caley. It sounds like this team will put more on the shoulders of their young star at QB when it comes to diagnosing coverages and pressure. That alone will help this unit in 2025.
Thanks for checking this one out and being part of my 53. Your time and support means a lot. Let’s dominate 2025.
